A still room is a room in a distillery where the distillery's pot stills are located and used in the distillation process. - The distillation process in the still room affects aromas, body and alcohol content in the final product through control points such as temperature drop, distillate flow rate and available valves.
Maintenance and operational safety
- Regular cleaning and maintenance of copper surfaces is important to ensure correct chemical reactions and prevent mineral buildup. Copper surfaces often require specific cleaning procedures to maintain their shape and function.
- Seals, grommets, and packings are checked regularly to prevent leaks and steam leakage.
- Safety assessments include ventilation, fuel handling and proper handling of alcoholic vapors. Access to the still room is normally restricted to authorized personnel, and safety procedures are used in case of operational disruptions or emergencies.
