Use without an account

Explore the map, whiskies, distilleries, bottlers, whisky bars, ratings, the lexicon, news, releases, and events without logging in.

Use with an account

An account gives you access to the dashboard, collection, Wish Cloud, your own ratings and sharing. Personal features are available from the My Whisky menu and the user menu.

Main menu

The main menu items open the map, places, ratings and glossary. Whisky Universe brings inspiration together, while My Whisky contains your personal tools when you are logged in.

Install from Whiskykort

When the browser supports direct installation, Install app appears in the main menu. Select it and confirm the installation. If the button is not shown, use the browser's own menu as described below.

Install on an iPhone or iPad

1. Open Whiskykort in Safari or Chrome. The same option may also be available in recent versions of Edge.
2. Tap Share, then select Add to Home Screen.
3. In Safari, make sure Open as Web App is enabled, then confirm by selecting Add.

Install on Android

Open the site in Chrome or Edge, open the browser menu, and select Install app or Add to Home screen. Then confirm the installation.

Install on a computer

In Chrome or Edge on Windows, macOS or Linux, select the install icon in the address bar or Install app in the browser menu.

In Safari on recent versions of macOS, select File and then Add to Dock. If installation is not offered, you can continue using Whiskykort normally in the browser.

New versions and connectivity

When a new version is ready, a message appears with an Update button. If the connection is lost, an offline page is shown; maps, search and personal data still require an internet connection.

Search for and open a place

Enter the name of a distillery, bottler or whisky bar in the search field. Select a result to locate it on the map, then click its marker for information and relevant links.

Filter the map

Under Filters, select place type, distillery status, country, whisky type and other properties. On mobile, filters open in a panel over the map, which you can close with the close button or by tapping outside it. You can combine several filters and use Reset filters to start over.

My location and directions

Select My location and allow the browser to access your location. When a place has coordinates, select Directions to open navigation in your map service.

Map view

Open Filters and select Map type to switch between the road map, satellite map and OpenStreetMap. Use Show all to fit the map to the results, or open the map in full screen. On mobile, open search and tools with the button above the map; the zoom controls stay above the bottom navigation.

Search all of Whiskykort

Use the search icon at the top of the page to search across whisky descriptions, distillery profiles, bottlers, whisky bars, public ratings, lexicon entries, releases and events. Search also understands related words and tasting descriptions. On mobile, the icon stays next to the menu. On desktop, you can also use Ctrl/⌘ K.

Enter at least two characters. Press Enter to perform the full search, or click a suggestion to open the result directly.

Put quotation marks around multiple words to find only the exact phrase, e.g. "Thy Whisky". You can add a category outside the quotation marks, e.g. "Thy Whisky" distillery.

Distilleries

Search by name or alias, filter by country, type and properties, and expand a result. From there, you can view the place on the map, find associated whiskies, read a summary, visit its website or hear its name pronounced when audio is available.

Bottlers and whisky bars

The bottler pages show profiles, brands and relationships with distilleries. On whisky bar pages, you can find visitor information, open the place on the map and read user reviews.

Find whiskies

Filter the whisky database by country, type and distillery. Choose whether all or just one of the search terms must match, and use | between alternatives. Switch between the detailed view and a whisky shelf with bottle images; expand a whisky for more information and a link to the distillery.

Ratings and glossary

The ratings overview groups tasting notes and scores by whisky. The glossary explains words, terms and tags found elsewhere on the site.

Key figures and status

See the number of bottles, unique whiskies, distilleries and wishes. The breakdown also shows how many bottles are open, unopened or empty, for example.

Latest activity

The dashboard shows your most recently added bottles, wishes and ratings. Use View all or the shortcut buttons to open the full list.

Complete your collection

If bottles are missing images or personal notes, the dashboard displays a reminder and a shortcut back to the collection.

Four ways to add a whisky

1. Upload or take a photo of the bottle.
2. Paste the address of a product page.
3. Search for a whisky that already exists.
4. Create the whisky manually.

Review before saving

An image or URL can fill in whisky information for you. Always review the suggested fields. If the site finds a similar whisky, you can select the existing entry or continue with a new one.

Your bottle information

Choose a status and add the price, currency, bottle code, place of purchase, dates, notes and your own image as needed. You can edit the information or remove the bottle later.

Search and filter the collection

Enter ordinary words in the search field, and use the Status, Country, Type and Distillery dropdown filters to narrow the list. The filters can be combined, and Reset filters removes them again. Under Advanced search, you can still use | between alternatives, for example open|closed.

Detail view or whisky shelf

Use the view buttons below the search to switch between the detailed view and the whisky shelf, which highlights bottle images. Select a bottle on the shelf to expand its details and action buttons. Your choice is remembered on the device.

Change status directly

Use Closed, Open or Empty on the bottle card to change its status without opening the edit page. Open automatically sets the opening date, and Empty sets the emptying date. You can undo the change from the message shown afterwards.

View, edit and show on map

Expand a bottle to see all details. From there, you can edit it, download a PDF for the bottle or go to its distillery on the map. Show on map at the top displays the distilleries represented in your collection.

Export and overview

Export the entire collection as Excel/CSV, a JSON backup or a PDF with or without images. Under Overview, you can group the collection by status, distillery, country, region or type and open the corresponding filtered list.

Add a wish

Choose a whisky and save its priority, price, currency, shop, link, availability, occasion, reason, notes and image as needed.

Track and complete wishes

The overview shows the number of wishes, high-priority wishes and estimated value. You can edit a wish, mark it as purchased or remove it from the list.

Share the wish list with a link

Select Share to generate a link for friends and family. Recipients can view the list without an account. You can see its visit count, copy the link and deactivate it when it should no longer work.

Ratings overview

Search by whisky, brand or notes, expand a whisky, view tastings and images, and use the scoring guide to understand the scale. You can edit your own ratings when logged in.

Select or create a whisky

Start with photos, a product URL, an existing whisky, or manual creation. Then work on one section at a time: nose, taste, finish, or overall note.

Voice input, text and score

Start the microphone for the selected section, or type directly in the text field. You can edit the text and set separate scores for nose, taste and finish before completing the rating.

Finish or save as a draft

Review notes and scores, choose the date and visibility, and add any images before saving. An unfinished rating can be saved as a draft and continued later.

Share your collection

Make the collection visible to all registered users, or give specific users access by email address. You can make the collection private again or revoke a user's access at any time.

View shared collections

Under Shared collections, you will find collections shared directly with you and collections made visible to all registered users. You can remove your own access to a directly shared collection.

News and new releases

Read whisky news and see the latest bottle releases. Open a release to see its details, information and images.

Events

Use the calendar to find tastings, festivals, and other whisky events.

Report errors and missing information

Use Report in the main menu if you find incorrect information, missing data or a broken link. Describe the page and the problem as precisely as possible.

Create and verify an account

When registering, choose a username and password and provide your email, name and country. Then open the link in the verification email before logging in for the first time.

Forgotten password or missing email

Select Forgot password on the login page to receive a reset link. If the verification email is missing or the link has expired, you can request a new one.

Language

Use the DA/EN menu at the top of the page to switch between Danish and English. Your choice is retained as you move to other pages.

Light and dark theme

Open the user menu in the top-right corner and select the light or dark theme. The browser remembers your choice on that device.
