History
- John Morrison, of Morrison & Mason, who was researching Glasgow's whisky history. During investigations into the Pumphouse's history, we found that our ancestor John Morrison helped build Queen’s Dock in 1863. A generation later, the family continued developing the Clyde docks, and in 2017 The Clydeside Distillery became a reality.
- A warm Glasgow welcome and a family history that binds the Queen of the Dock and the River Clyde to the whisky makers of today.
Production / Manufacturing
- 100% of our water comes from Loch Katrine, located in the West Highlands, and the water is transported about 40 miles to Glasgow for distillation.
- We are described as a distillery that crafts entirely new-make spirit using traditional methods and timeless skills, with a view of the Clyde River from our Still House.
- Dockside Story presents Glasgow and the whisky industry through moving images and animation in a self-guided exhibition that accompanies guided tours through the distillery.
- Our products include several malt whiskies: Napier (Lowland, 46% ABV, matured over 6 years in Oloroso sherry casks), Stobcross (Lowland, 46% ABV) and Fortnight (Peated, 46% ABV, natural colour, non-chill-filtered) with descriptions of flavor and character.
