Ingredients and production

Moreira’s spirit production is based on local and national ingredients. In the gin, among other things, juniper, manzanilla, coriander, eucalyptus, citrus, and pepper are used, and the house particularly highlights the wild, organic Patagonian juniper as a distinctive feature. Gin Flowers & Berries builds on the original gin through cold maceration with hibiscus and Patagonian red berries, while Oaked Gin gets its character from resting in oak. The whisky is described as pure malt and is aged in barrels of American and European oak, including ex-Bourbon barrels and barrels that previously held Argentine wine. The Single Cask release is aged continuously in a European oak barrique with a stout background. The core consists of Whisky Single Malt in two formats, both pure malt and both aged at least three years, with one being a 500 ml edition at 43% and the other a 750 ml premium edition at 40%. In addition, there is Whisky Single Cask, the house’s first single-cask release and also the most limited. The range shows a distillery that starts in the classic single malt tradition, but is also willing to use distinctive barrels and small batch sizes to create more collector-oriented releases.

Whisky style and flavor profile

The gin style is driven by wild Patagonian juniper, eucalyptus, melissa, manzanilla, and citrus, resulting in a profile that is both herbal, fresh, and classic. Flowers & Berries adds hibiscus and Patagonian red berries, pulling the gin in a more floral and fruity direction. Oaked Gin brings vanilla, chocolate, and coffee from the oak, while the whisky gets its own depth from the wood, wine barrels, and a fuller, more complex structure.
