History

Länna Bruk Dryckeshandel is located outside Uppsala and has a history dating back to the 1760s. The place, Länna Bruk, has for 200 years been home to workers and activities—from blast furnaces to sawmills—and today a living winery. They describe themselves as Uppsala's only urban winery, where the old meets the new in every glass and where the torch is carried forward to create a new era for this historic landmark.

Production

Production at Länna Bruk Dryckeshandel is characterized by artisanal production in small batches. Gin is produced as a London Dry gin in small batches with a generous amount of juniper, accompanied by elderflower and citrus from yuzu. Coffee liqueur is made with locally dark-roasted coffee from Uppsala Coffee Roastery and a touch of vanilla. Direktören is a wine blend consisting of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, where some vintages are selected and aged further in oak barrels. Each year, the few barrels that yield the final wine Direktören after further maturation are selected. Länna Bruk Dry Gin is a classic London Dry gin in small batches. Luthagen is a 6% India Pale Ale, brewed with pale malt and wheat malt and exclusive American hop varieties Mosaic and Simcoe; it is unfiltered to preserve flavors and aromas. Orange Spritz is a pre-mixed canned cocktail with flavors of orange, bergamot and lemon. Gin n Grape is a mixed canned cocktail with gin and grapefruit. Uppsala Nya Lager is a light lager beer at 5% brewed locally and referred to as Uppsala's own house lager. The beer series Länna Bruk also launches a new Uppsala beer series with historical photographs on the labels and in collaboration with Upplandsmuseet.

• Gin n Grape (canned cocktail): Gin and grapefruit.

• Luthagen (IPA): 6% abv, Mosaic and Simcoe, unfiltered.
• Orange Spritz: Orange, bitter orange, gentian root and lemon.
• Uppsala Nya Lager: 5% pale lager, locally matured and with Saaz hops.
• Uppsala Series: A new beer series to honor Uppsala's history; launched around April 8 and available in Systembolaget in Uppsala as well as Knivsta, Rimbo and Norrtälje, and which is a special-order item nationwide.
