History

Wolf & Oak Distillery has been active in quality alcohol production since 2011, initially as Wolf Distillery, a hobby production of spirits labeled 'sample not for sale', and since 2018 under the Wolf & Oak Distillery brand. The founder is Michał Płucisz.

Wolf & Oak Distillery S.A.

Wolf & Oak Distillery S.A. was established in December 2019. In the first half of 2020, the company carried out a crowdfunding campaign that gathered almost 1500 shareholders and around 4.2 million złotych. The funds were to be used for renovation and launching the distillation in Stanica, Dolny Śląsk. In the second half of 2021, the plan was a merger under Art. 492 para. 1 point 1 of the Polish Commercial Companies Code between Wolf & Oak Distillery S.A. and Wolf Distillery sp. z o.o., after which the joint-stock company would be the acquirer.

Historical milestones

• 2011: First brandy – buckwheat brandy with buckwheat honey.
• 2016: Decision to build the distillery and start the 'Wolf Distillery' project.
• 04.2017: Premiere of Okowita Żytnia (rye spirit).
• 10.2017: Auction of 'Smoky Whiskey no. 1' in a 30-liter cask for 11,000 zł; the collection consisted of 17 bottles.
• 09.2018: The origin of the brand and the trademark 'Wolf & Oak Distillery'.
• 10.2018: Purchase of a 19th-century distillery in Stanica, Dolny Śląsk.
• 01.2019: Black Water Barrels – delivery of 210 casks, new American oak (200 liters).
• 08.2019: Building permit for the distillation and change of use.
• 10.2019: Distribution of our beverages to 60 stores in the Auchan chain in Poland.

Production

The distillation and production are located in Stanica, Dolny Śląsk, where the company purchased a 19th-century distillery in Stanica. In 2019, 210 casks were added under Black Water Barrels, consisting of new American oak, each cask 200 liters. In addition, the company obtained a building permit in 2019 and has distributed to the Auchan chains.

Products

• Smoky Whiskey no.1: A whisky launched in 2017, in a 30-liter cask, offered for 11,000 zł and comprising a collection of 17 bottles.
• Okowita Żytniej: The premiere of a rye distillate in 2017 (under the name 'White Wolf').

Visits / Experiences

From the start, the company has through crowdfunding attracted nearly 1,500 shareholders and raised capital to renovate the distillery in Stanica. The products are also distributed in Poland through the Auchan network.

Philosophy

The company focuses on quality spirits and craftsmanship in a world of beverages, and continues a 'follow the wolf' theme in its branding.
