History
Brennerei Lüthy stands for authentic craftsmanship and 100% Swiss whisky. "HERR LÜTHY" is the designation for a whisky production that focuses on local production and slow, artisanal production. The nickname "Herr Lüthy" was given to him decades ago at agricultural school, and today he operates, as the sole representative of the second generation, a specialty- and whisky-distillery with great immersion and passion.
Production/Manufacturing
On the farm, grains are produced directly as malt barley (Braugerste), ancient spelt (UrDinkel), maize, sorghum, sunflowers, peas and various fruits. Malting of the grain takes place in the estate-owned malting house (the meeting between the maltster and the farm's raw materials is not outsourced to others). Distillation takes place in copper pot-stills, in a two-stage distillation, and an exclusive, mobile pot-still with traditional wood firing – an authentic setup without compromise.
Products/Whisky Series
Whisky
HERR LÜTHY describes the whisky as the sum of many small steps: the Honninghanke process involves seeds of crops grown on the farm, malting, drying, mashing and a gentle distillation in copper pot-stills. The noble spirit is stored in cryo-tanks in oak casks over the years until it reaches perfection. Common to the approach is 100% Swiss origin and a focus on high quality throughout the chain – from grain to bottle.
Gin (supplementary product) 80% CH
The gin consists of an alcoholic base and a number of botanicals, including natural Swiss juniper from the Valais region and European sources. Rosemary comes from the house garden, and orange adds a fresh scent and aroma. Additional botanicals are used as part of the overall gin profile. Ethanol and juniper base are Swiss-produced.
Other details
The company notes that the alcohol for the base comes from Swiss production and that a large portion of the raw materials is tailored to the local context – all under the slogan of maintaining a 100% Swiss supply chain.

Philosophy
HERR LÜTHY is described as an innovative, warm-hearted craftsman in a proudly second generation. The focus lies on authentic craftsmanship and traditional production in Switzerland, where the whole process is local and anchored in the farm's practice and experience.
