Historie
Bettems-familien has lived in Féchy since the beginning of the 17th century. Since 1927, five generations have led the company, and Bettems Frères S.A. was founded in 1952. Cave de la Crausaz produces around 350,000 bottles of wine per year in a fully equipped cellar with its own bottling line. We are also environmentally conscious and reuse empty bottles by washing them in our bottle-washing machine.
Vineyard and Area Our plots are spread across the Féchy estate. The grapes are primarily Chasselas (about 90%); the rest consist of Chardonnay, Gamay and Pinot. The soil is ideal for wine production in Féchy, and the area faces south with views of the Alps and Lake Geneva. The winery and cellar are historic; the cellar sits six meters below the vineyards in a building dating from 1620. Our family and business have roots in Féchy across generations, and since 1971 the Féchy vineyard has been listed in the register of landscapes and sites of national significance.
History and Buildings The Bettems family is among the oldest in Féchy and has been in the area for several generations. The building dating from 1620 forms the setting for the cellar, and a total of 350,000 bottles of wine are produced annually and bottled on our own bottling line.
Philosophy and Environment We place emphasis on tradition and respect for nature and are environmentally conscious, which is evident in our practice of reusing empty bottles and in using our own bottle-washing machine.
Visits and Experiences You can visit our cellar and taste our wines at any time and in any season. A virtual tour of the cellar is also available.
