Historie

The Broger Distillery is a family-owned distillery in Klaus, Vorarlberg. In 1993, Eugen and Bruno Broger, following in the footsteps of their father Walter, began distilling fruit from their parents' garden. Over the years the distillery has evolved into a high-quality house, run by the family in their spare time. The Broger team consists of family members and is run as a true craft distillery in their spare time. As co-founders of AWA – the Austrian Whisky Association, founded in October 2012, Broger demonstrates a strong belief in Austrian distilleries and their whiskies.

Produktion / Fremstilling

All malt and grain varieties are milled, malted, and distilled on site in Klaus, Vorarlberg. They use a variation of grains from Scotland and Bavaria, and grains from the home region Vorarlberg are grown in cooperation with local farmers (maize, barley, wheat, rye and spelt) to produce a sustainable and regional whisky. To create variation in flavor, emphasis is placed on the choice of casks, and experiments with previously used casks such as Malaga, Madeira, Sherry or red wine and many others give the products balanced and complex flavor experiences.
