History

  • The Grove Distillery is located in the Margaret River region of Western Australia and is run with a deep love of craftsmanship inspired by Margaret River Wine Country. They describe themselves as a place that doesn't mess with the classics, producing small batches of the finest whiskies, rums and liqueurs as well as other signature products.
  • One of their notable releases is Collector's Release 5, the Margaret River Region's first Pedro Ximénez (PX) single malt whisky release. It has been aged 5 years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks and a further 1 year in a PX cask (128 liters). Only 254 bottles were produced in this PX sherry cask maturation, and it is at ABV 48%, vintage 2017, and a 500 ml size.
  • The region's philosophy emphasizes that time and local culture play an important role; The Grove works in small batches and places emphasis on classic spirits such as whisky and rum, as well as their famous liqueurs.

Production / Manufacturing

  • The Grove uses a traditional copper still imported from Germany, combining pot- and column-distillation experience with a whiskey-fruit-head-pot, enabling them to produce a range of spirits, including whisky and bourbon.
  • Production focuses on small batch sizes and the use of locally sourced ingredients or ingredients from around the world. They are located in the Margaret River wine sub-region of Wilyabrup, where the region's climatic conditions imply proximity to the sea and high rainfall, supporting a rich raw-material base.
