History

Bluestill Distillery was founded in 1995. Bluestill began about 23 years ago as a collaboration in trial and error. Now, with more than two decades in distilling, Bluestill offers a range of handcrafted spirits, wholly produced in Australia. Among the range you’ll find James Bentley Whisky, James Bentley Whisky Liqueur, Black Widow Honey Bourbon, Black Widow Sour Mash Bourbon, Country Dry Gin, Red Kelpie Rum, Chiapas Tequila, Young Drop Cherry Liqueur and other wines and liqueurs.

Production

All Bluestill products are bottled on site. Product tastings are offered. The distillery is located in Young, NSW, in the former JD’s Jam Factory (up the hill) on Grenfell Road. The old factory has been transformed into a space that also showcases a wealth of local creative talent. Buses and groups are welcome – parking for cars, vans and coaches is available.

Products / Whisky Range

Bluestill produces whisky as part of their range: James Bentley Whisky and James Bentley Whisky Liqueur. In addition, other spirits in the range include Black Widow Honey Bourbon, Black Widow Sour Mash Bourbon, Young Drop Cherry Liqueur, Young Drop Cherry Port, Country Dry Gin and Red Kelpie Rum, among others.

Visits / Experiences

Bluestill is open for tastings and door sales. Opening hours: Monday–Friday 10:00–14:00; Saturday and Sunday closed. The location in Young makes it possible for visitors to see where their whisky and spirits are produced. Group visits and coach tours are welcome. On-site tastings are also offered.
