History

Founded in 1935, Armagnac Veuve Goudoulin stands as a leading brand within the Armagnac category and upholds a long tradition of finesse and quality. According to the company's presentation, Armagnacs Goudoulin derives its authenticity from the leadership of a strong female figure: Jeanne Goudoulin became a widow in 1927 and ran the region for more than 40 years. In 2009 Michel Miclo, owner of Distillerie Miclo, purchased this gem, and this purchase marked the beginning of a partnership between two artisanal houses, which later gave birth to a unique whisky project under Veuve Goudoulin.

Production / Manufacturing

According to the distillery's description, there is a long tradition of Alsatian distilling craft spanning three generations. The whisky component is characterized by wood contact and aging in Gascon-style casks. A key detail in some of the whisky interpretations is that the whisky matures in the same casks that previously held Bas Armagnac (100% Folle Blanche). This wood contact contributes to the final aroma profile. Additionally, in relation to the gin side, it is described that in their associated process finishing in French oak barrels that previously contained Bas-Armagnac is involved, illustrating the house's focus on the influence of wood on flavor.
