Historie

Lachanenche was founded in 1994 by Nicole and Daniel Million Rousseau in Vallée de l'Ubaye with the aim of producing spirits that are 100% natural and produced on their own farm. Product development was later carried on by their sons, Benoît and Jérôme, who in 2019 took over and continued the tradition while developing new spirits in circuit court and with certified organic production. In 2022 their first whisky, Laverq, was launched, a single malt without additives based on French barley and matured in an old tunnel connection near Vallon du Laverq.

Produktion og fremstilling

Lachanenche produces all products on-site without additives, flavors or colorings, and the company operates in a bio-community with a focus on naturalness and biodiversity.

Særlig tilgang og terroir

  • Agriculture d'altitude and a local terroir in Ubaye inspire the production and the raw materials.
  • Unique know-how and wild harvests, where the plants and fruits are selected and harvested in the surrounding mountains.

Eaux de vie

Our eaux de vie have freshness and intense aromas and are produced through a slow and precise production process that begins with careful fruit selection and follows daily monitoring of fermentation and distillation tailored to our alambic.

Apéritifs traditionnels

Here you will find wine-based aperitifs such as vin de noix, génépi, vin d'orange and montagnette. All are made from wine appellations and flavored with flowers or fresh organic fruits. They are delicately sweet and add subtle flavor nuances from the Alps and Provence.

Gin triple distillation

The gin is distilled three times and combines bold juniper with the scent of balsam from wildflowers in the Ubaye valley. It is diluted with spring water from the local area and is both lively and complex.

Génépi

Génépi Bio Lachanenche is produced without additives and colorants and uses exclusively flowers from génépi in Ubaye. Génépi Noir is a rare edition, produced in limited quantities to preserve the resource.

Pastis Roche Bénite

Pastis that reflects the mix between the Alps and Provence through the use of wild herbs such as sarriette, serpolet and other aromatic plants, including absinthe fruit and génépi. Roche Bénite symbolizes the identity as a subtle meeting between the Alps and Provence.

Liqueurs de l'Ubaye

Liqueurs made as organic products, closely tied to the terroir. Fresh fruits and plants are used, and production employs maceration to release aromas, color and beneficial properties — all without additives.

Whisky Laverq

The first whisky in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, an organic single malt without additives, based on French barley and malted in France. Maturation occurs near the distillery in an old railway tunnel environment near Vallon du Laverq, which yields a slow and unique aging process. Emphasis is placed on seasonal variations and the influence of nature on the landscape and the flavor experience.
