History
Calvados Pierre Huet is a family-run distillery in Normandy, built on a long tradition. According to the website, it all started with François Huet, born in 1859, who produced and stored calvados without marketing them, and later Pierre Huet (1890–1975) became an important figure through his work building the brand's reputation by selling to prestigious restaurants such as Paul Bocuse, Taillevent and Guérard. François Huet, grandson, was also a passionate distiller and produced vintages that still stand as the family's pride. The next generations, Pierre and Philippe Huet, joined the family estate in 1970 and 1972 and worked in line with the long tradition. The fifth generation, François-Xavier Huet, joined in 2005. The website also describes the motto A Family – A Product – A Passion and notes that the distillery today is known for high-quality calvados and for bottles bearing the PH seal as a symbol of authenticity.
Production / Manufacturing
Calvados Pierre Huet is produced as Calvados AOC Pays d'Auge through double distillation of cider in a traditional copper still. The first distillation ferments the cider fully for 12 months in hundred-year-old oak barrels. The majority of the vapors are removed, and only the heart of the distillation is kept; the final eau-de-vie has around 70% alcohol. The first heating system is based on wood chips, produced on the farm and used as sustainable fuel. Distillation is a central part of the product and follows the AOC Pays d'Auge standard. Several products in the portfolio follow this method and are aged in oak barrels over the years and yield different age profiles. Some of the older bottles bear the PH insignia and wax seals as a sign of authenticity.

Philosophy
Calvados Pierre Huet presents itself as a family – a product – a passion. According to the history, the company consists of five generations of producers, of which the first generations established the brand and secured relationships with renowned restaurants. The fifth generation, François-Xavier Huet, joined in 2005 and carries the tradition forward at Manoir la Brière des Fontaines in Cambremer. The production method of copper distillation and wood-chip-fired heating shows a commitment to craftsmanship, quality and sustainability. Certification of AOC Pays d'Auge and the use of the PH seal on the most prestigious bottles show a focus on authenticity and heritage. Different age profiles and flavors are conveyed through a broad portfolio – from younger Fine to older Cordon Or and Prestige.
