History

Wild Life Distillery (WLD) is a Canmore-based craft distillery in Canmore, Alberta, founded by Keith Robinson and Matt Widmer. They describe themselves as a lifestyle-distillery with a focus on the area's natural beauty and local ingredients: Rocky Mountain Water and Alberta Prairie Grain. According to their Whisky Promise, the goal was to create a distillery that could produce vodka, gin, and, one day, whisky; that day has now come, and whisky flows in the province. They invite visitors to experience their Tasting Room and Cocktail Bar in Canmore, and offer online purchase of WLD spirits with the option of free delivery on online orders.

Our Background

Co-founders Matt Widmer and Keith Robinson have roots in Bow Valley and Canmore and have traveled to Scotland to learn whisky-making, including visits to Strathearn Distillery, Rock Rose Gin, and Bruichladdich on Islay. These experiences have shaped their approach to craftsmanship and flavor.
