They build on an approach of bold flavors, clean finishes and a tangible touch in every bottle. The phrases Crafted at the Source and later Rooted in Craft. Open to What’s Next highlight the commitment to craftsmanship, innovation and close collaboration within the community around SFR. It also states that the company remains independently owned, while collaborating in the spirit of creating a unique craft experience and plans for the next generation of Premium Canadian Whisky. Emphasis is placed on community and connections through private tastings, behind-the-scenes tours, and limited-release spirits through the Legendary Club.

Production / Manufacturing

SFR Distillery produces on-site in a copper pot still and focuses on a hands-on approach to distilling, where every element of the still and every glass of spirit bears the grain-to-glass process. Whisky is described as alcohol produced from a corn-forward mash (88% corn, 10% rye, 2% malted barley) and aged in a blend of new oak barrels and ex-bourbon barrels, giving notes of caramel, roasted spices and a hint of banana on the nose. Vodka is made from wheat and filtered through wood and charcoal filtration for a clean, silky mouthfeel. Gin is distilled in copper stills with selected botanicals and promises a citrus- and juniper-driven profile. Their product portfolio also includes liqueurs such as Jacked Chili Liqueur, Trickster’s Orange Liqueur and Monk’s Secret Herbal Liqueur, as well as moonshine (Ogham Original Moonshine) from Batch No. 001.
