Historie

Last Mountain Distillery was founded in 2010 by Meredith and Colin Schmidt and is Saskatchewan’s first micro-distillery in Lumsden, SK. The company is family-owned and focuses on high quality and handmade spirits in small batches that reflect the prairie country. In 2022 Braeden Raiwet became a partner, and a new brand identity was introduced. The distillery operations mark Last Mountain Lake and the pelican symbol as signs of calm, direction, and new beginnings. LMD Whisky became part of the family as our premium whisky brand; it is produced in small batches and aged to perfection.

Produktion / Fremstilling

The production process is based on a craft approach that brings out the full flavor of the grain and yields a smooth finish. The distillery sits in the heart of the grain belt and focuses on small-batch production, where whisky plays a central role. Baldur’s Canadian Whisky presents a range of small-batch whiskies based on different grain varieties and mash types, where ingredients and technique highlight the Canadian terroir.

Baldur’s Canadian Whisky (EST 2010) omfatter en række små batch-whiskyer: - No. 001 Straight Wheat – made exclusively from 100% Canadian wheat - No. 002 Straight Rye – made from 100% Canadian rye and aged in charred oak casks - No. 003 Bourbon Style – a mash in a sour & sweet style, aged in charred oak casks - No. 004 Single Malt – 100% malted barley, bottled at cask strength and aged in new American white oak casks - No. 005 Bourbon Style – same as No. 003 - No. 006 Wheated Rye – a rye whiskey with wheat in the blend In addition, LMD Whisky is marketed as our premium whisky brand, and there are specialty products such as Salted Caramel Whisky in the portfolio.

Last Mountain Distillery is located in Lumsden, SK. Tours & tastings are held on Saturdays from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM: - Base Tour: 30 minutes - Tour & Tasting: 45–60 minutes - Founders Tour: 60–90 minutes Private tours and tastings can be arranged after 6:00 PM with 30–60 days’ notice. Off-hour bookings or private events can be handled via online inquiries and bookings.

The LŌK(Ə)L brand supports the local community through donations to Saskatchewan charities, and 10% of LŌK(Ə)L profits go to good causes each month. An online shop and nationwide delivery demonstrate commitment to direct sales and accessibility for customers.
