History

Dixon’s Distilled Spirits was founded in 2013 by the husband-and-wife duo JD and Vicky Dixon and was the first craft distillery in Guelph, Ontario. Their mission was to share the love of fine spirits with people in Ontario and beyond, across the country. They focus on craftsmanship and quality by using local, natural ingredients and strive for 100 percent Made in Canada spirits, which are “forged from the land”. Community and friendship are central to their approach, and they have gained industry recognition; in 2018 Flaming Caesar Vodka, Wicked Citrus Gin, and Wicked Licorice Gin won World Drinks Awards.

Production/Manufacturing

The spirits are fermented from Ontario-grown corn and distilled 18 times (compared with the industry average of 3–5 times). They then undergo 30 hours of charcoal filtration, which removes the harsher nuances but leaves a hint of the corn's sweetness—combined with Guelph’s pure water. The result is clear, smooth spirits used in their premium gin, vodka and whisky.
