Historie

The Windspiel name goes back to Frederick the Great and his potato legislation in 1746. It gave the region some of the world's best natural products. His other great passion was the Windspiel dogs, and the symbiosis of these two passions inspired the name and the atmosphere around the Manufactory.

Produktion / Fremstilling

Windspiel is committed to sustainability (#CSR #ESG). Because we love what we do, and because perfectionism and love for the product pay off. From the knob to the bottle, everything is handmade. The products are produced in small batches, and the quality is transparent throughout the production chain. We do everything ourselves, know every hand gesture and, with love for the product, bring a high level of expertise and quality spirits that unite tradition and innovation with as much sustainability as possible.

High alcohol content: from the outset we use our own raw alcohol. The raw materials are predominantly regional, and we work with the best master distillers in Germany; one of them holds a PhD in sensory science.

Sustainability in production: the distilleries use solar energy and photovoltaics, transport routes are short, the bottles are sealed with natural cork, labels and cardboard come from recycled paper, and shipping is CO2-neutral.

Windspiel Spirits: independent, stylish and award-winning. We have won gold several times: World Spirits Award as Gin des Jahres national, ISW (Meininger’s International Spirits Award), German Design Award, German Brand Award in the category Excellence in Brand Strategy, Management and Creation, Red Dot Design Award and iF Design Award among many others.

Their products include potato-based gin (Gin aus Kartoffeln), Windspiel Barrel Aged Potato Vodka and Kräuterspirituosen such as Kraut & Knolle. In addition to gin there is also Windspiel Premium Dry Kampot Pfeffer Gin and Windspiel non-alcoholic variants such as the Weihnachts-Edition (Dubai Coffee) and Limone Spritz as well as other special editions like Dry Caxambu Coffee Gin and Windspiel Kraut & Knolle.

Windspiel Manufaktur also collaborates with Auerbach Berlin, where Windspiel collections designed by Jan-Henrik Scheper-Stuke are sold in the online shop; there are also elegant Highball glasses and other visual details that give a stylish experience.
