History

Weingut/Brennerei/Sektkellerei Dotzauer is a family business near Nahe. Since the early 1900s the Dotzauer family has cultivated wine near Nahe, and today the company is in its fifth generation. In addition to wine, we also produce sparkling wine (Sekt) and our fruit brandies (Obstbrände) from Streuobstwiesen in Pfalz and Nahetal. We believe that good products take time: the wines, the sekt, and the fruit brandies have time to develop their full splendor – in the bottle, on the yeast and in Barrique in our cellars. According to Achim Dotzauer, "Good things take time!" Otto Dotzauer adds: "We have enough time – if we use it properly!"

Production / Manufacturing

Dotzauer produces wines, Sekt and brandies. Production rests on patience: our wines, Sekts and fruit brandies need time to reach their full quality. According to our description, the products mature in the cellars – either in the bottle, on the yeast (Hefe) or in Barrique (wooden casks). We use vaulted cellars to give them the necessary time. In addition to wine and Sekt, our Obstbrände from Streuobstwiesen in Pfalz and Nahetal are also produced. We also mention our climate: cold winters as well as dry and hot summers provide favorable conditions for the growth of grapevines and fruit trees.
