Production / Manufacturing
Scriptor is a family-owned distillery with its own distillation facility, and production takes place with a craft ethos. They produce a wide range of classic spirits, liqueurs and gin, as well as Baden-style whisky and other creative creations. Tastings often highlight a distillery tour as part of the experience, and emphasis is placed on giving guests an insight into the process and the history behind the products.
During tastings, guests have the opportunity to experience partnerships with Salzmischer and Black Bird, which contribute bread, olive oil and a nut mix to the experience.
Products / Whisky Series
Their whisky range includes, among others, Barrel Essence, a limited single malt that matures in Bulgarian oak and is released in a small number of bottles (46% vol, 88 bottles). Special edition WoW 2025 is a limited single malt (46% vol, 0.35 L). In addition, there are various whisky-related experiences and tastings such as Scotland: Smoky + Haggis, Whisky World Tour, Whisky for Beginners and Premium Tasting – all include a tour of the distillery and focus on barrel aging and flavor development.
Visits / Experiences
Scriptor Brennerei offers a range of tasting experiences: whisky, gin, distillates and liqueurs, as well as cocktails. Many events include a distillery tour and a guided tasting of six whiskies or five gins, depending on the event. There are outdoor and indoor options such as Winter Whisky Walk and Forest-Delight Walk, where you walk through the forest and enjoy five different whiskies along the way – with food, bread and salt as accompaniments. There is also Gin Seminar, Gin World Tour and Cocktail Tasting, which provide insight into botanicals and blending techniques.
Philosophy
The core of the business is a family-owned and handmade approach. They focus on diversity within distillates and liqueurs as well as gin and Baden-style whisky, and work with small batches to give each bottle its unique character. Collaboration with partners such as Salzmischer and Black Bird ensures a complete tasting experience at tasting events – including bread, oil and salt, and a nut mix – so guests gain a full immersion into the distillery's world and history.
