History

  • Schlossbrauerei Autenried was founded in 1650 in Autenried, a small place near Günzburg in Bavarian Swabia, and is run by the Feuchtmayr family. The production follows old family recipes and is strictly according to the Bavarian Reinheitsgebot.
  • Under the Autenrieder label, around 14 beers and beer-mixed products are offered. The brewery has received more than 150 prizes and accolades, including gold and silver medals at DLG's quality testing (five gold, one silver) and successes at the European Beer Star Award with several beers.
  • There is a strong integration between production and the entire value chain: the brewery still builds its own malting facility, uses water from its own well (officially classified as mineral water), uses natural hops instead of hop extract, and the yeast comes from its own pure culture. The brewing process is thus largely controlled internally.
  • Autenrieder also has strong hospitality elements: a brewery inn with a four-star wellness hotel, a beer garden and a brewhouse, as well as the hotel’s pool and wellness area. There are also conference rooms and vacation apartments attached.
  • Since 2010 the brewery has its own brewery museum, which informs about beer brewing and displays historic equipment and installations. The castle grounds around Schloss Autenried provide the backdrop for the brewery, and the area around Ichenhausen/Autenried offers excursions such as Legoland Günzburg.
  • Distribution channels include retail as well as a home-delivery service and an online shop; there is the possibility for regional and supraregional orders via the brewery's website.
