Historie
Isarnhoe Destillerie is a small distillery located directly by Schnellmarker Gehölz and only a few minutes' walk from the forested cliff coast at Eckernförder Bucht. And a final visit with us makes the excursion perfect. The enthusiasm for the diverse aromas of fruits and herbs from nature, the gardens and Streuobstwiesen of the surrounding area, was one of the reasons for founding our small distillery operation. The preservation of the varietal diversity of the landscape-typical native flora and cultivated plants is close to our hearts.
Produktion / Fremstilling
Our distillery focuses on fruits and herbs from nature, the gardens and Streuobstwiesen in the area, which are processed carefully and creatively into distillates such as whiskey, gin and aquavit, or occasionally liqueurs. Whether the distillate is aged for a long time, freshly bottled, or seasonally flavored liqueurs, all require a specific treatment, and they get it with us. We work with different grain varieties and offer both traditional whiskey and Kornbrand (grain brandy) with various aging and pre-treatment processes.

Isarnhoe produces a range of whisky variants and malt-/grain-brandies: - Purist – Malzwhisky (45% vol) – 5 years aged. Not colored and not chill-filtered. A single-cask edition. - Pleserus – Roggenwhisky (49.7% vol) – 7 years aged. A single-cask bottling with storied aging. - Roggenwhisky Fass 18 – 46% vol – 6 years in Bordeaux cask with honey and wine notes. - Roggenwhisky Fass 19 – 8 years – 45% vol – Bordeaux cask with mid-processing and final influence. - Roggenwhisky Fass 15 – 6 years – 48% vol – bourbon-cask (American white oak) with mid-treatment. - Wohlder Monarch – 40% vol – 24-year-old reserved cognac-cask, aging in cognac cask gives body and color without altering the core character. - Roggenkornbrand – 40% vol – grain brandy from locally produced organic rye, aged in ash (Eschenholz) cask. - Roggenkornbrand aus dem Eschenholzfass – 40% vol – one year in ash-cask with vanilla sweetness. - Dinkel – Kornbrand – 40% vol – almond notes, organically grown wheat/spelt from regional organic farming. - Hafer – Kornbrand – 40% vol – organically grown oats. - Isarnhoe BIOLAND Dinkel Kornbrand aus dem Eschenholzfass – 40% vol – 10 weeks aging in new ash barrel. - Dinkel – Kornbrand 40% vol / Hafer – Kornbrand 40% vol / Roggen – Kornbrand 40% vol – different variants and pre-treatments. - Isarnhoe Whiskyfass 30-50 Liter – possibility to configure your own Whisky (alcohol strength 63.5%), different grain mixes and cask types, with indications of specific blending options (e.g., 70% Roggen / 30% Gerstenmalz, 80% Roggen / 20% Gerstenmalz, 50/50, 100% GM). Aging allocations and delivery times vary. - Roggenwhisky Fass 18 – 46% vol (described above) and Roggenwhisky Fass 19 – 8 years – 45% vol (described above). - Haikutter Lisa – Rum (machined from Paraguayan molasses) – 46% vol – special edition where sales support the maintenance of Haikutter Lisa (ship) in Kiel. - Pelagus Rum’24 – 44% vol – rum distilled from sugar beet molasses (Nicaragua) in a white wine barrel process with a complex, spicy character.
Besøg / Oplevelser
Emphasis is placed on the local nature and culture: the distillery is located close to Eckernförde Bucht and offers a concluding visit experience that completes the excursion. There is also a whisky school (whiskyschule) available on the site.
Filosofi
We emphasize the beauty and diversity of fruits and herbs in the surrounding nature and work to preserve the varietal diversity of landscape-typical native flora and cultivated plants. The production focuses on craftsmanship, consideration and creativity in handling raw materials from the area and honors traditional and unique distillation methods without artificial colorants or chill-filtering on selected products.
