Historie

Feiner Kappler is a German distillery located in Baden (Kappelrodeck), run by Axel Baßler and Miriam Baßler. The region and the era: postwar period, heritage and craftsmanship. Alcohol became a medium of exchange; the father found a copper distillate in the ground by the house; the family continued and now runs the company in the fourth generation. The first major success came in 2012 at the world's largest Obstbrand awards. The company focuses on fruit-based spirits (edelbrands and liqueurs) and craftsmanship without added flavors and without sugar, based on fruit from its own trees.

Produktion / Fremstilling

The distilleries are distilled twice carefully in a traditional copper pot still. The distillation is carried out with wood, which makes the process CO2-neutral. After aging in glass carboys and stainless steel, the high-proof brandies are cooled to drinking strength by being diluted with soft spring water. The ingredients come from our own cultivation year-round: only selected varieties and locations are chosen to ensure optimal aromas; the fruit is hand-picked and immediately crushed for fermentation. Purity and thoroughness in the entire process are important to prevent contamination and ensure controlled fermentation. Traditionally, selected varieties and cultivars from the region are used, including fruits such as Blaue Zibarten and Williams-Christ, and work continues with an extended edelbrand collection.

Filosofi

The core is quality starting with the fruit: quality begins at the tree. The fruit comes from their own trees in Baden, where the climate and hours of sunshine provide optimal crops throughout the year. No aromatic additives, and the distillation and fermentation are controlled to preserve purity and natural aromas. The production emphasizes craftsmanship and tradition, and the Baßler family rejects sugar in brandy and highlights origin and natural ingredients as core values. The distillery is regarded as a family business in its fourth generation and draws on the regional heritage of the Black Forest and Baden.
