History
Since 2011, Mathias Gerstner has been distilling noble brandies and fine spirits in a wood-fired copper pot still. In 2014 he completed the training to become a Bavarian Edelbrand Sommelier at the Hochschule in Weihenstephan (Freising in Upper Bavaria). In 2021 Mathias Gerstner completed the training to become a state-certified distiller in Deutenkofen in Lower Bavaria and Veitshöchheim. For several years the experienced distiller has served as a judge at the Franconian and Bavarian Edelbrand awards as well as at the FRANKFURT International Trophy. The many awards testify to the high quality of the products from Edelbrennerei Gerstner. At Edelbrennerei Gerstner, almost all distillates and liqueurs are produced in certified organic quality. The wood for distillation comes from regional forests. The required electricity is supplied by the rooftop PV system. We are one of the few distilleries in Germany that consistently pursue sustainability.
