History
DRILLING is a unique concept that combines a Café, Bar and Distillery under the roof of the former Marzipan factory in Hamburg-Bahrenfeld. Since the end of August 2018, it has opened its doors and offered a gastronomic environment where craftsmanship meets pleasure: in the café, in the bar, and at a professional tasting of its own spirits.
Production / Manufacturing
The distillate is described as a Verschlussbrennerei – a distillery that also produces its own spirits. It focuses on craftsmanship, transparency and visibility in the process: glass-fronted and open construction makes know-how, processes and usage visible to guests. Own spirits are produced and the bar offers professional tasting of these products. In addition, the Clockers BAR team and their own gin 'clockers GIN' and the herbal liqueur 'clockers HERB' have been produced on site since the opening.
Products / Whisky Series
This page mentions own spirits and especially clockers gin and clockers HERB (herbal liqueur), but no whisky is specifically mentioned. No details about a whisky collection are provided.
Visits / Experiences
DRILLING offers experiences through Café, Bar and Distillery under one roof. The café hours are: Tuesday–Friday 8:30–17, Saturday 10–17; the bar opens Tuesday–Saturday from 17:00. There is a focus on tastings of their own products and on making the crafts visible through the open construction and the transparency in the distillation process.
Philosophy
A central element is transparency: The people behind DRILLING want to put content at the center and give guests a view behind the label – openness and a focus on the spirits themselves rather than just the brand. This is reflected in the idea of bringing the industry closer to the consumer through communication and open processes.
