History Alt Enderle Distillery is a premium distillery in Germany that produces German fruit schnapps and whisky. It is operated under Bauland Brennerei and focuses on sustainable production and high quality. The distillery was founded in 1991 by Joachim Alt and Michael Enderle.
Production/Manufacturing The distillery uses pot stills designed for the production of German schnapps; this style is described as fruity and sweet, and although it is not optimal for whisky, it still yields a good whisky product. The malting and even the harvest of barley take place at the distillery itself, which ensures high quality throughout the process. The product portfolio includes German schnapps, liqueur, gin, rum and also single malt whisky. The distillery has its own warehouse, and due to the warmer summer climate and colder winter climate, maturation in Germany is said to be somewhat faster than in Scotland.
Products/Whisky Series The distillery produces everything from German schnapps, liqueur, gin, rum and also single malt whisky. Flavor notes are described as having an average intensity, with nose notes of fruit, sherry, malt, spices, plum, barley, wheat, cinnamon and sweetness, and palate notes of sherry, malt, oak, barley, wheat and sweetness. The finish also mentions spices and sweetness.
