Historie

Titanic Distillers is based in Belfast, in the shipyard where Titanic and many of its sister ships were built. Every day we walk in the footsteps of the city's shipbuilders, and the air is steeped in history. The historic site includes the old pumphouse, which in 1911 helped set Titanic in motion, and today we have given the place new life by opening a whiskey that celebrates friendship and our people.

We are a group from Belfast, united by a love of good company, good drinks and nights full of laughter and stories worth telling. We are proud to have brought one of Belfast's most iconic buildings back to life. The history of Belfast's whiskey tradition – why it vanished, and how it has returned – is told through our experiences and tours at Thompson Dock. Today we see how past shipbuilding meets modern craftsmanship in our distillery.

Produktion / Fremstilling

Our distillery lies at Thompson Dock in Belfast and is part of the Pumphouse and Thompson Graving Dock. The old pumphouse made the Titanic mission possible in 1911, and today our team works with passion and precision to produce whiskey that reflects the city's spirit. We blend the early sweetness of Irish corn whiskey with depth from triple-distilled malts and add a hint of dried fruit and a long finish. The production equipment can be viewed by visitors on our experiences, where guides share the story of Belfast's whiskey tradition, why it vanished and how it has returned as the city's first functioning distillery in almost 90 years.

ABV in selected variants varies: e.g. Premium Irish Whiskey around 40% ABV; 5 Years Pot Still Irish Whiskey 46% ABV; 9 Years Single Grain Whiskey 42% ABV; and other single malt variants at higher strengths; In the warm Pumphouse and Graving Dock area, sensory tasting and safety procedures are part of the experience.

The story of Titanic Distillers is a tale of Belfast, dreams, friendship and bringing people together around a glass of whiskey. We are a group from Belfast, united by a love of good company, memories and stories, and we want to give the place a heartfelt life just as in 1911. We hope that the combination of past and present – where the Pumphouse and Dock meet the modern distillery – yields a whiskey that represents the city's spirit and our shared passion.

During the day and into the evening, our distillation team works with passion and precision; we balance the sweetness of the grain and the heft of the malt and finish with notes of dried fruits and a light smoke. Here good drink, good music and good people come together in a celebration of our culture and the enduring soul of our city.
