History

Mourne Dew Distillery is an award-winning distillery in Northern Ireland that produces gin, whiskey, and spirits. Founded by Donal Farrell, who grew up in Rostrevor surrounded by stories of his grandfather's poitín. A former barrister and chartered accountant, Donal's path changed after a court case about cold distillation in DNA testing, which triggered the idea of using this delicate process to make spirits.

Production / Distillation

Triple distilled, smooth, and timeless – crafted in the heart of the Mournes. This indicates a three-times distilled production process that underpins Mourne Dew's whiskey.

Products / Whisky Range

Mourne Dew offers whiskey in at least two well-known variants: - Mourne Dew Premium Irish Whiskey (Triple Distilled Irish Whiskey) - Single Malt Irish Whiskey The products come in 70 cl bottles, and there are also miniature editions (20 cl and 5 cl) for some of the variants.

Philosophy

The story draws on family ties and regional inspiration: Donal Farrell's family roots in Rostrevor and his grandfather's poitín. The idea of cold distillation as a particularly delicate distillation principle became the starting point for creating Mourne Dew's spirits range. This shows a fusion of tradition (the poitín tradition) and modern distillation methods in the Mournes.
