Historie
Broadlough Estate lies in the heart of County Wicklow by the Murrough Wetlands. The estate has a unique mineral alluvial soil and a coastal, temperate climate, which together give simplicity and quality to Broadlough Whisky. The first Inaugural Single Cask Series was launched in autumn 2023, and there are plans to launch Broadlough Barley Pot Still in autumn 2024.
Produktion / Fremstilling
The elements of Broadlough consist of barley grown in the brackish moors around the Murrough Wetlands. The mineral alluvial soil with high organic content creates a barley unique to this area. The fresh sea breeze gives a more briny note in the finish of the whiskey. The mash uses Wicklow Spring Water for the purest flavor. The coastal location provides a temperate maritime climate, which results in tender, plump barley grains with lower levels of proteins and free amino acids, increasing flavor stability. The final stage of the process is overseen by our craft distilling master, who regulates each step and extracts the robust and complex flavor profile that characterizes Broadlough.
Produkter / Whisky-serien
Estate Barley Pot Still is Broadlough's expression based on barley and pot-still technique. The Inaugural Single Cask Collection comprises six inaugural single casks – both a Single Malt and a Single Grain, distilled in 2016, 2017 and 2018. All are matured in First-Fill Ex-Bourbon Casks, unfiltered and bottled at Cask Strength, and each bottle bears its Cask- and Bottle-number. The Limited Edition Inaugural Single Cask Collection is now available. The series emphasizes simplicity and true Irish quality without unnecessary gimmicks.

Filosofi
Broadlough places emphasis on Grain-to-Glass traceability: barley grown on our own estate, yeast and the pure spring water. The result is a premium whisky that is rich and deep in both flavor and terroir. The unique ecosystem around Wicklow Broadlough and Murrough Wetlands provides an environment that reflects the taste, with briny notes from the coastal air. Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication – they choose simplicity over unnecessary finishes and focus on authentic Irish quality.
