History New Alchemy Distilling is a family-owned distillery that brings new perspectives to classic spirits. The distillery is owned and operated by the distillery itself, and the founders are involved in all steps from recipe development to distillation and bottling. The distillery began as an idea in a research laboratory, where the two founders met, and the idea has grown into a small company that also engages family members. They combine both artistic and technical-analytical skills to develop new approaches to traditional spirits. Vodka and gin use neutral spirit distilled in-house from local wine, which provides subtle flavor nuances that differentiate them from grain-based products. The vodka undergoes a proprietary technique to purify the spirit, making it light and sharp. Botanicals in the gins are hand-sorted, weighed and ground, and are extracted precisely by steam-driven distillation using a unique still they designed and built. The Whiskey Series White Devil Whiskey is carefully distilled from rye and has 40% ABV in a 750 ml bottle. It has no dominant oak notes, allowing the grain- and yeast-character to shine through with bright, spicy notes of rye and a light pear essence. Uses: enjoy neat with a twist, in a Boulevardier, or as a substitute for blanco tequila in lighter cocktails. Awards: Silver medal at the 2018 Craft Distillers Spirits Competition.
