History Myer Farm Distillers is a family-owned craft distillery in Ovid, New York, producing vodka, gin and whiskeys, including flavored varieties, aged gin and liqueurs. The family has deep roots in the area: our ancestors Andrew Dunlap and Joseph Wilson were among the first to settle in Ovid in 1789, and the dynasty has tilled the land in Ovid since about 1810 with the current location since 1868. In 2012, brothers Joe and John Myer began uniting farming and distilling to create some of the finest spirits in the American craft distillery renaissance. John Myer has an agricultural background from Cornell and runs the largest area of corn and soybean production in addition to a large share of winter and spring wheat as well as other grain and clover grasses.

Production/Manufacturing Site and Distillery The distillery and tasting room are located on Cayuga Lake in Ovid, NY, and are designed to reflect traditional Scottish distilleries with a hip tag, pagoda roof and natural stone facade to give a craft-minded vibe. The railing consists of a 650-liter copper still from CARL, Gmbh (Aldes, a German proud producer of older style) with a 5-foot side column for whiskey distillation, a gin-head for steam infusion and a 16-foot rectification column for vodka.

Manufacturing and Raw Materials We produce vodka, gin and whiskey, including flavored varieties, aged gin and liqueurs, and all ingredients are on the Myer Farm property. According to our own description, we use International Certification Services-certified organic grain grown on our own farm – one of the largest and oldest organic farms in the northeastern United States – and everything we use to flavor or infuse our products is as locally sourced, organic and sustainable as possible, with most other ingredients sourced within 20 miles of our facility. Our family- and terroir-inspired philosophy is evident in our farm-to-flask approach: we plant the seed and produce the spirit itself.

Philosophy We uphold a farm-to-flask philosophy: everything we use to flavor or infuse our products is locally sourced, organic and sustainable, and most ingredients are sourced within 20 miles of our facilities. We produce organic grain from our own Myer Farm β€” one of the largest and oldest organic farms in the northeastern United States β€” and we grow and produce the spirits on-site. We design and build our facilities with respect for tradition and craft, and our products bear the mark of strong local roots and a family history that spans from field to bottle.
