MLH Distillery™ is a family-owned distillery in Grove City, Pennsylvania, founded in 2017. The site houses production facilities, a tasting room and a shop, and offers bourbon, rye and single malt alongside rum, gin, vodka and liqueurs. Visitors can shop in the tasting room or via the webshop with local delivery and curbside pickup.

History

MLH Distillery™ was created in 2017 by the Myers, Livingston, Hogue and Hefner families. The background draws on a local trade and craft tradition, and the project was realized in collaboration with local business partners. In connection with the establishment, facilities for production as well as a tasting room and retail area were constructed, so both production and customer contact happen together. From the start the aim has been to work with local ingredients and build relationships with local suppliers, while making the product range available via both a physical shop and webshop.

Raw materials and production

Production at MLH covers several spirit types and draws on local ingredients. Vodka is produced from American wheat and undergoes five distillation runs followed by four charcoal filtrations to achieve a clean profile. The coffee liqueur is made by cold-brewing George J. Howe coffee from Grove City, where the coffee is concentrated and blended with spirit and sugar. The gin lines are built on botanical recipes; for example, one variant contains angelica, grapefruit and cinnamon, while Recipe No. 5 Gin uses bitter orange, grapefruit, lemon, lime, as well as hibiscus and berry elements. Barrel-rested variants are also offered, and the distillery's product portfolio combines traditional distillation techniques with local flavor ingredients and small batches.

Maturation and barrel types

In the range, wood finishes are used as an explicit device. A dark rum is finished in oak barrels, and a bourbon variant has been finished on cognac staves. There is also barrel-rested gin, where cask aging is used to alter the gin's character. These measures show that casks and staves are actively used to create variation between products and lines.

Whiskies

The portfolio includes both whiskey categories (bourbon, single malt and rye) and a range of other spirits: several rum variants (dark, silver, coconut), at least two gin variants including a Recipe No. 5 and a barrel-rested edition, vodka, and liqueurs such as coffee and cranberry liqueur. The webshop shows standard bottles and finish variations such as bourbon with cognac stave. MLH Bourbon appears as a central whiskey product in the online selection, while single malt and rye are also part of the range, sometimes with sold-out status.

Style and flavor profile of the whiskies

The overall style in the range covers three clear directions: citrus and berries from the gin's botanical compositions (grapefruit, bitter orange, lemon, lime, hibiscus), spicy botanical notes such as cinnamon, and intense, concentrated coffee from the cold-brewed coffee liqueur. In addition, wood influence from oak barrels and the use of cognac staves recur in products where finish and barrel choice affect character.

The distillery has a tasting room and a shop at 107 Breckenridge St Unit 2 in Grove City, where bottles can be purchased directly. The webshop offers delivery, shipping and curbside pickup. Opening hours for deliveries are Monday–Friday 10:00–16:00 via the back door labeled "Deliveries". Tastings and bottle sales take place on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons/evenings, and pickup outside these times can be arranged by telephone contact.
