History

Minden Mill Distilling is located in Carson Valley in Nevada, east of Lake Tahoe. The distillery produces ultra-premium spirits made from corn grown locally in Minden, Nevada, and has an approach where the entire process flows in-house on the property. The distillery is LEED Gold-certified and described as a historic estate-distillery where it all happens on-site.

Production/Manufacturing

Estate Grown

Grains such as oats, rye, wheat, barley and corn are grown on the locally owned land in Carson Valley and traditionally processed in their Malt House. Circular and sustainable methods are part of the description of the process.

Estate Made

The whole chain from sowing the grain to composting the spent grain takes place on the same property. Fermentation, distillation, aging, and bottling all take place on-site, which, according to the text, gives an authentic expression of the land, the people and the craft behind each bottle.

In-House Experiences

The top-floor rooms also offer a wine tasting with Foley Family Wines – an extra experience alongside the regular spirits tasting at the distillery. The distillery is described as LEED Gold-certified and historic.

Products/Whisky Series

Minden Mill Distilling describes its products as ultra-high-quality spirits made from locally grown grain. No specific types of whiskey are mentioned in the text, only that grain-based spirits are produced and that spirit tastings are offered (and a wine flight on the top floor). No specific whisky types (such as Single Malt, Blended etc.) are mentioned in the material.

The distillery is described as a place to visit, with experiences available as well as a wine flight.

Philosophy

The production philosophy emphasizes using estate-grown grain and that the entire process takes place on the same property, which provides a clean and authentic expression of the land, the people and the craft behind each glass. The focus on sustainability (estate grown) and self-sufficiency (estate made) underscores the desire to control the entire chain and maintain a close relationship with place and community.
