History

Lost State Distilling is a family-owned craft distillery located in downtown Bristol, Tennessee, producing small-batch gin, rum, Tennessee whiskey, and canned cocktails. The company emphasizes that each spirit comes from the finest ingredients with a focus on quality. Their products are now available for delivery to 40 states, and the distillery offers a visitor experience in the form of a tasting room and gift shop.

Production

Shelby’s Reserve Straight Bourbon Whiskey is distilled with a mash bill of 60% corn, 30% wheat and 10% barley, producing a sweeter profile with hints of fruit and vanilla. Shelby’s Reserve Whiskey is a high-wheat bourbon, finishing primarily in used bourbon barrels to soften the final profile. Maple Flavored Whiskey is based on a wheat-forward base and infused with natural Appalachian Maple Syrup. Nolichucky Jack Silver Rum is distilled from Panella, a sugarcane juice distillate, which gives the rum a lighter body with notes of vanilla and butterscotch. Secession Tennessee Gin is a botanically heavy blend, where juniper dominates the nose and is followed by citrus, spice and sweetness with a long finish. Andiron Vodka is distilled from 100% corn with a focus on a clean, fresh taste with a touch of sweetness. Cinnamon Maple Flavored Whiskey is seasonal from September to March and adds cinnamon to Maple Whiskey. Franklin Four Whiskey is a blend of two wheated bourbons, providing a smooth mouthfeel with a hint of sweetness and caramel on the nose. Franklin Four Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a Single Barrel Straight Bourbon Whiskey, hand-selected from our barrels for top flavor and smoothness, and each batch is a limited release of up to 350 bottles. Franklin Four Cask Strength Single Barrel Bourbon is Cask Strength Single Barrel Bourbon selected for its notable smoothness at cask strength. The products are produced in limited quantities and can only be obtained through select channels, including Nashville International Airport and the tasting room.

Visits/Experiences

The Tasting Room and Gift Shop are open year-round. Tastings of all products are offered, and daily tours of the distillery are available. There is also a selection of spirits that are only available in the tasting room. Visit us at 200 State St, Bristol, TN 37620.
