History

  • Northfield high school classmates Simeon and Mark began in January 2011 with Simeon\'s homemade coffee liqueur.
  • Since then, they have nearly daily explored the biological, chemical, and business aspects of the distillation industry.
  • In November 2012 they launched a reservation/microfinancing campaign, which raised USD 11,500 from over 100 people; they used this, along with an angel investment, to obtain an SBA loan in July.
  • While they were completing construction in November 2013, they were the only two people in southern Minnesota to receive federal permission to produce spirits in over 100 years.

Production

  • Scratch-made organic spirits, craft cocktails, house-made non-alcoholic drinks, and stone-milled pizza in a historic 1916 building.
  • New larger, custom-built distillation equipment enables increased production capacity, including Minnesota\'s first peat-smoked whiskey.
  • Ethics at the core: ethics remain paramount.
