GrandTen Distilling was started because they love spirits and, like you, enjoy a good drink at the end of the day. Their mission is to create characterful products that satisfy the growing number of well-informed cocktail lovers in New England. Their flagship product is Wire Works American Gin, which celebrates the history behind the famous South Boston cast-iron giant who once stood in the space where they now distill.

Renewal and Place – The Foundry Story GrandTen Distilling sits on Dorchester Avenue in South Boston. They share their building with memories of generations of ironworkers who shaped the tools to build and defend a new nation. The history in the Foundry influences the spirits they produce and helps them understand their place and leave a mark on the spirits they make.

Products / Whisky Series

California Single Malt Whiskey (Chapter 1)

This six-year-old single malt whiskey was distilled in California from a mash bill consisting of malted barley and chocolate-malted barley. It was aged in new oak barrels and then shipped to Boston in port-finished casks to round the whiskey with a fruity note. Although the path to distribution took time, Chapter 1 – A Long Time Coming is described as a whiskey worth waiting for and represents GrandTen’s efforts in American whiskey development. The product is described as a single malt that later became available in Boston through a lengthy adaptation process between the West and East Coasts.

Visits / Experiences

GrandTen offers the opportunity to tour the distillery and visit the bar (our history menu: Tour the Distillery, Visit the Bar). However, the GrandTen Bar is now CLOSED, and they plan to establish a new facility with details about the whiskey and the distillery to follow.
