Conceived During a Montana Snowstorm

Glacier Distilling Company was established after a snowstorm-filled night of brainstorming in a cabin along the North Fork in Montana in the winter of 2009-10. A group of friends discussed ski equipment, fly fishing, whiskey, and other academic topics, and as the snowstorm continued, they decided to start a distillery to secure their whiskey supply. Glacier Distilling Company was registered as a business on January 20, 2010, and has since operated with a Montana ethos of preparation and self-reliance. The first unaged rye whiskies were released shortly thereafter, followed by North Fork, Bearproof, and Logan Pass, and the story continued from there.
