History

Virginia Foothills Distillery & Company, LLC is a distillery in Orange County, Virginia, created by master distillers Colonel Chuck and Christen Reinhold together with restaurateurs Chef Craig and Donna Hartman. They point to Orange County as an area rich in farming, history, tourism, and Southern hospitality, and they will use this background to bring world-class spirits through focused local collaboration and products. Their vision is to be a world-class distillery in the Virginia Foothills region and to produce award-winning spirits through near-zero-waste processes that support local producers and businesses across Virginia. The mission is to produce high-quality, award-winning distilled beverages as well as merchandise from and for the support of local farmers and producers, and to offer a central place where visitors can experience and enjoy the area's local fruits.

Production / Manufacturing

The distillery is a new company inspired by local ingredients and located in the Foothills in Orange County, Virginia. The team draws on traditions from around the world and strives to bring equally world-class spirits to Virginia, with a focus on using local talents and suppliers throughout the process.

The First Spirit

Their first and finest spirit is Blind Preacher Bourbon-Whiskey. It is described as a Rye Bourbon, distilled and aged to the highest quality using a sweet mash process. The aroma features vanilla and caramel, followed by an oak-forward flavor profile. The finish is warm and inviting. It is offered as Single Barrel (100 proof) or Small Batch (90 proof) and can be enjoyed neat or in your preferred cocktail.
