History

Dragonfyre Distillery was started by a dedicated founder, and there is a small video from the early days where the process is shown on a 25-gallon still. Much of the equipment and processes have since been upgraded. As part of the story there is 'The Dragons Tail', describing how the distillery was built and run by the family.

Production

The distillery produces very small batches: very small-batch, single-barrel whiskies, and most spirits are aged in 10- or 15-gallon oak barrels on site. Annual production runs under 500 gallons. All production is on-site from ingredients sourced from local farmers.

Products/Whisky Series

They offer premium single-batch, single-barrel whiskies with Bourbon-style and Rye whiskey, including also single grain and single-barrel spirits as well as special finishes. Apple Brandy is mentioned as part of their spirits range, although it is not a whisky. Unaged white spirits (moonshine) are also listed as part of the assortment.

Visits/ Experiences

Visit the distillery in Marathon, NY, where there is a gift shop and tasting room with both indoor and outdoor seating. The address is 1062 Leonard Rd, Marathon, NY 13803, USA. Phone: 607-849-9600. Hours vary, but open: 12:00–17:00. Tastings and tours are offered; dogs are welcome, and children are also welcome if accompanied by a responsible adult. No food is served on-site, but you may bring your own food to suit your needs. Online ordering is also available and can be delivered within New York State.

Philosophy

All production is on-site from ingredients supplied by local farmers. The distillery rejects purchasing neutral grain spirit (NGS) and focuses on small-batch and single-barrel production, with local know-how and craftsmanship.
