History

Dragon Distillery is the first distillery in Frederick City and focuses on handcrafted, premium spirits. The family settled in the mid-1700s on a 200-acre piece of land about 25 miles from the distillery's current location. The distillery was founded in 2015 and operates as a small, woman-owned business, deeply rooted in the local Frederick community. The name Dragon comes from a love of Dungeons & Dragons and geek culture, and the distillery strives for innovation and a fun, unique expression in its products. The founder is a Navy veteran who has served as an Arabic linguist and intelligence analyst, underscoring a culture of technical savvy and dedication to craft.

Dragon Distillery specializes in small-batch artisan spirits, made from finest locally-sourced ingredients using a sustainable and environmentally friendly approach. They focus on high quality and ongoing product development through craft and creative collaboration. The production process is supported by a small, dedicated team and a culture that blends tradition with modernity.

Products

The portfolio includes spirits in general and a range of offerings through Dragon's Den, including handmade cocktails such as Mango Fire, Axe-spresso Martini and Get Figgy with It. Dragon's Den also serves as a private-event venue and offers options such as open bar, pay-as-you-go, food and events with games and entertainment. In addition, Dragon Distillery offers White Label (private label) production, where unique formulas, branding, sourcing and storage of products can be developed. Old Line Tailgate Co has taken over the kitchen in Dragon's Den and adds lunch/dinner to the experience. Dragon Distillery also offers private events and activities such as D&D sessions and a large game library.

Visits/Experiences

At Dragon Distillery guests can enjoy tastings, cocktails, light bites and games as well as purchase products. Dragon's Den is available for private events for up to 100 people with options for open bar, pay-as-you-go, food and events with games and entertainment. There are also organized events such as Friday trivia, murder mystery dinners and other events.
