Historie

Dakota Spirits Distillery is a small family-owned craft distillery located on a plateau north of the Missouri River in Pierre, South Dakota. Yes, we are brothers, born and raised in South Dakota. We started the distillery to use local fruits and grains directly from the field to the glass, and so that our two-brother approach could become a shared project. According to our history, we have been called the best artisanal distillery that no one can find. Our brand later became known as Bickering Brothers as a result of our minor disagreements and later collaboration. We produce both brandy and whiskey in small batches and use a copper pot still at the heart of our production.

Produktion

Dakota Spirits works with a small-batch copper still and local ingredients. With four seasons and extreme temperatures, including very hot summers and very cold winters, the climate is ideal for rapid aging of our spirits in American oak barrels. The soil and sunny skies of South Dakota are recognized for producing corn, wheat, and rye, and we are the leading producer of oats. We have collaborated with South Dakota wineries to create world-class, award-winning brandies. All of this, together with our naturally clean Upper Missouri River basin water, helps us produce unique and refined flavors. The concept was born through two brothers, and it is about local ingredients, small batches, and a high level of detail.

Neutral Brandy – our light and especially smooth neutral brandy. It is ideally served with a single ice cube in a rocks glass to open up the complex flavor notes, without the water dominating the balance. The region around the Coteau des Prairies (Prairie Hills) provides the grapes we distill into our brandy. Bickering Brothers Neutral Brandy is described as a neutral brandy with a higher ethanol content than most older brandies, which makes the caramel and character flavors more pronounced, with a touch of vanilla and caramelized sugar. It finishes with a subtle hint of oak and leather. It is not particularly sweet and has no burning aftertaste. It goes well with cola and sours and other light mixes. This brandy is produced in small batches and is therefore in limited supply.
