History
Caiseal was founded in 2017 by Randy Thomas and Bjorn Marshall. The initiative sprang from the desire for a multifunctional production site where distillation and brewing operate side by side in a historic building. The Vanguard, a converted New Deal-era armory near downtown Hampton, was chosen as headquarters and functions as both a production facility, a brewpub, and a concert hall. Since its inception, the company has combined craft and practical operation to create a place where production and the public meet, and has brought a Virginia Straight Bourbon and a Single Malt to market.
Raw Materials and Production
Caiseal operates distillery and brewery activities in the same facility and showcases the production in a public-facing environment. The products are made in The Vanguard and sold or presented via the brewpub's taps and cocktail menu.
