Historie

Cahaba Brewing Co. quickly expanded their first location in Birmingham’s Pepper Place/Lakeview district. In January 2016 they moved their 3-barrel homebrew project to East Avondale and upgraded to a 30-barrel brewery. Production and taproom are now in a 51,000-square-foot building in the historic Continental Gin Complex. The taproom offers over 26 taps and classics such as Blonde, Oka Uba IPA, Pale Ale and Lager, as well as taproom-only releases. Cahaba is currently distributed throughout Alabama.

Produktion

Cahaba's production facility consists of three 60-barrel fermentation tanks, three 120-barrel fermentation tanks, and two bright tanks (60 and 120). For experimental beers they use a 3.5-barrel system, while other beers are brewed on a 30-barrel Sprinkman system. On-site Cahaba can package beer via a Wild Goose canning line. All Cahaba products are brewed and packaged at Cahaba Brewing Company in Birmingham, Alabama, including Blonde, Oka Uba IPA, Pale Ale, Lager, DD’s Cherry Hibiscus Sour and more.

Whisky-serien

Peated Single Malt Whiskey

A peated single malt expression with notes of leather, sugar and spice. It consists of 70% barley and 30% peated barley and is aged in new charred American white oak barrels for 5 months. NOTES: leather, sugar and spice. AGE: 5 months.

Bourbon Whiskey

Bourbon, aged in new charred American white oak barrels for about 6 months. NOTES: caramel, floral, oak. AGE: 6 months.

Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Aged two years. NOTES: floral aroma on the nose with cherries, stone fruits and spices; tastes of rye spice, caramel and tobacco notes with a pronounced vanilla finish. AGE: 2 years.

Besøg / Oplevelser

Cahaba has a taproom with over 26 taps and opening hours: Monday 15:00–22:00, Tuesday–Saturday 11:00–22:00, Sunday 11:00–20:00 (Building C). In addition, they offer the option to rent rooms for events in the Barrel Room, Patio and Taproom. Booking and inquiries are made via the contact options on the site.

Filosofi

Cahaba builds its name from the Cahaba River, the longest free-flowing waterway in Alabama. Like the river, Cahaba Brewing Co. is rooted in a diverse, humble and free-flowing, wild adventure. This mindset is reflected in their approach to products and community.
