Boundary Oak Distillery is located in the 'knobs' of Central Kentucky and markets itself as Hardin County's first legal distillery since Prohibition. History
The Goodin family has roots in Kentucky for more than two centuries. Brent Goodin's ancestor Samuel Goodin established Goodin Fort near the old Boston, which later became Bardstown. The land had long been used for industry and most recently a factory that closed in 2009. Brent Goodin conducted research and investments and secured a license, and on October 18, 2013 the first legal production in Hardin County since Prohibition. Today Boundary Oak operates its headquarters in Radcliff and a branch in Bardstown.
Ingredients and Production
The distillery's production is family-owned and led by Master Distiller Brent Goodin. The facility produces both unaged spirits (moonshine), vodka, and aged bourbon products. For 101 Proof Moonshine, the use of 100% cane sugar is clearly stated. The water supply is described as natural limestone springs, and products are marketed to both retail and online sales. Guest offerings such as flights and tastings are an integral part of the facilities.
Aging and Barrel Types
The product list shows the use of several casks and finish options. Names in the lineup refer to finishes such as Mizunara and Amburana, as well as wine-barrel and Cabernet Sauvignon finishes. There are also traditional bourbon releases, indicating the use of bourbon barrels for aging. Store-exclusive special releases suggest experimentation or small, limited batches.

Visit the Distillery
Visitors can come to the headquarters in Radcliff and the Bardstown branch. Radcliff is open Monday–Saturday 10:00–18:00 and Sunday 12:00–17:00; Bardstown is open Monday and Wednesday–Saturday 11:00–18:00 and closed on Tuesday and Sunday. Guided tours are walk-in all day; tastings cost $10 USD, and a tour + tasting costs $15 USD. Two flight types are offered, and groups of 15+ should call ahead. There is a gift shop, and some special editions are sold exclusively in-store.
The stated hours are Radcliff: Monday - Saturday 10am - 6pm; Sunday 12pm - 5pm. Bardstown: Monday, Wednesday-Saturday 11am - 6pm; Tuesday and Sunday CLOSED.
