History
Wiggly Bridge Distillery is a craft distillery in York, Maine. A father- and son-run family project operated by David Woods and his son David Woods. They are self-taught and have hand-built their copper pot stills, which they believe contribute to unique flavor profiles. Thirteen years ago they began distilling in copper stills; they built equipment and have since distilled small batches of award-winning spirits and received recognition. The distillery is family-owned and independent, and they welcome visitors from across the country and around the world.
On Repeal Day they remind us that Prohibition ended in 1933, and that the current business was formalized in 2012 when they filed the company's papers and founded Wiggly Bridge Distillery. Their history is driven by hard work, craftsmanship, and a love for the tradition of locally produced spirits by the sea. Today they continue with copper stills and small batches and focus on quality and craftsmanship.
Production
Wiggly Bridge Distillery follows a grain-to-glass approach and builds its own copper pot stills. They are a small-batch distillery without external investors and prioritize craftsmanship and quality. The copper pot stills they built themselves and the close connection to the Maine coast are the foundation for their characteristic flavor profiles. Production takes place in small batches, and they often age in used bourbon barrels and other wooden casks to add character.
