History

The Family Jones Distillery stands in line with Wendell Berry's quote: "Every act of eating is ultimately an agricultural act." They are conscious of the connection between soil, farming and distilling and work to revive these connections through the production and sale of their spirits. The brand emphasizes the relationship to the whole process and sees it as sacred – from the soil and those who cultivate it, to those who receive the family's work with gratitude.

Partnerships and raw materials

The company is built on 100% local, family-owned grains grown through regenerative farming, which enhances the flavor of the grains. Key partners and suppliers mentioned on the page include: - The Whiskey Sisters (Stephanie & Felicia Ohnmacht): supply corn, rye and wheat for Annika Jones Vodka, Juniper Jones Gin, Atticus Jones Rye, Ella Jones Bourbon and other products. - Root Shoot Malting (Olander Farms) in Loveland: provides malt and grain for production. - GBT Farms (Johnstown): supplies corn and rye for Atticus Jones Rye, Ella Jones Bourbon and other specialty products. - Jones Farms Organics (San Luis Valley): a fourth- and fifth-generation family business, which in 2005 became 100% organic with a focus on soil health; their collaboration with The Family Jones Distillery is noted as unrelated. They grow, among other things, Ryman Rye as a cover crop and supply grain for the products.

These suppliers enable the production of products such as Annika Jones Vodka, Juniper Jones Gin, Atticus Jones Rye and Ella Jones Bourbon, as well as other specialty products, and reflect the company's commitment to the local community and sustainability.
