History

Origin

Sound Shore Distillery stands as the successor to Good Shepherd Distillery. The story began in 2016 when Vinny and Carly Miata opened Good Shepherd Distillery and made small-batch spirits. Soon they joined forces with master distiller Artie Bruno, whose family owned the legendary Larchmont Tavern. From this collaboration emerged Sound Shore Single Malt, a small-batch, single-barrel American whiskey. With that, the name changed: Good Shepherd became Sound Shore Distillery, a supplier of Young Spirits from Historic Shores.

Present and Closure

It is with regret that we have decided to close the business. The pandemic and the hurricane hit harder than we did. We have enjoyed meeting many of you, and thank you for your support. See you around the neighborhood.

Production

Sound Shore Distillery currently produces an American Single Malt Whiskey, a Small-Batch Vodka, and a lighter Rosé Vodka. A Rye Whiskey and an Unaged Spirit are also in development. Each bottle is hand-made with the finest New York State ingredients and a true commitment to craftsmanship.

Visits / Experiences

Sound Shore Distillery is located at 360 Mt Pleasant Ave. Suite D, Mamaroneck, NY 10543 (Entrance on Stanley Ave.). The Tasting Room is open Wednesday to Sunday: Wednesday and Thursday 4:00–9:00 PM, Friday 4:00–10:00 PM, Saturday 12:00–10:00 PM, Sunday 12:00–9:00 PM. We offer tastings and seasonal cocktails based on our own spirits.
