History
Ocean City's first distillery since Prohibition, Seacrets Distilling Company, produces Seacrets Spirits – a fearless collection of premium small-batch, handcrafted spirits. The brand was originally launched in 2014 as off-site distilling of vodka, gin and white rum in Rehoboth, DE. Construction of Seacrets Distilling Company began in October 2015, and in June 2016 Ocean City’s first distillery since Prohibition opened. Today the distillery spans 12,000 square feet and produces small-batch spirits using time-honored craft and modern precision. Since opening, Seacrets Distilling has earned over 50 national awards and was named Maryland Rum Distillery Of The Year by the New York International Spirits Competition.
Production / Manufacturing
The distillery describes itself as a producer of small-batch spirits produced with time-honored craft and techniques combined with modern precision. Mash bill, fermentation and distillation take place entirely in-house, and there is an emphasis on local ingredients wherever possible, including GMO-free corn and rye from neighboring regions. The facility offers a 1930s-inspired experience through guided tours, where visitors can witness the full process from grain to bottle. The tour ends in the Speakeasy Tasting Room, and a unique experience is offered with over $1 million in authentic antiques. Seacrets Distilling also markets itself through its ‘The Taste Worth Fighting For’ philosophy.

Philosophy
Seacrets Distilling positions itself as a premium, handcrafted, small-batch producer with a clear regional identity and a strong festive spirit: blue-spiced and golden rums, sweet white and coconut rum, a particularly smooth vodka and fine gin, as well as further developed flavor varieties and the ‘The Taste Worth Fighting For’ philosophy, which is also reflected in their branding and award recognitions. They emphasize in-house production, use of local ingredients where possible, and that the experience surrounding the setup and the guided tour is a central part of the brand.
