History

San Francisco Distilling Co. was founded in 2014 with a vision to create a distinctive American whiskey. Founder and CEO, Jeff Jones, had always had great respect for the history and tradition of whiskey, but wanted to create something entirely new—and San Francisco Distilling Co. was born.

From humble beginnings to today, the team has been dedicated to producing a rich, robust, and flavorful spirit, and the company has positioned itself as a leading voice for American whiskey.

Production / Manufacturing

The company produces handcrafted spirits in small batches. Forty Nine Mile Bourbon is a small-batch bourbon, made as a four-grain blend and aged in new charred oak barrels for seven years along the Mendocino coast, yielding vanilla and oak notes. The mash bill is 70% corn, 24% rye, and 6% malted barley. The bottle is 45% ABV (90 proof).

Forty Nine Mile Single Barrel Bourbon is a 7-year-old single-barrel bourbon, aged in new charred oak casks and presented as a unique single-barrel with a deep amber color and layers of vanilla, caramel and dried fruit; it is also 45% ABV (90 proof).

Forty Below Gin is produced with a combination of local botanicals and distilling ingredients (40 Below) and has 45% ABV (90 proof). The gin presents a dominant juniper aroma with citrus notes and a complex palate of coriander and angelica root.
